Aylar Aldridge started playing the violin aged 11 with her community music service. By the age of 13, she had gained a scholarship to study at the prestigious Junior Royal Academy of Music and completed her undergraduate studies at both The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama with Yu Yasuraoka and Sigrid Kuulmann at The Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. Soon after graduating, Aylar emerged as a sought-after session violinist in the vibrant musical landscape of London. In this time she worked alongside various artists and composers, performing in some of the UK’s most prestigious venues including The Globe, Hammersmith Apollo, Birmingham’s NEC arena and Cadogan Hall.
Teaching
When it comes to teaching, Aylar is a powerhouse of musical education. With a rich tapestry of experience spanning the Channel Islands and the UK, she has carved out a unique niche in the world of music teaching. After earning her degree from The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, she plunged into the vibrant educational landscape of London and Singapore, where she served as a classroom music specialist.
Her journey in Guernsey as their Upper Strings Specialist marked a transformative chapter. Here, Aylar not only nurtured her students’ talents but also mastered the art of preparing them for critical examinations. With an astonishing 100% pass rate in both the Trinity and ABRSM exam boards, she stands as a beacon of excellence in music education. Aylar's students don't just learn to play—they thrive, excel, and confidently shine in the competitive world of music. Her students have secured coveted spots in prestigious orchestras including the National Children’s Orchestra of Great Britain and institutions like Royal Holloway and Manchester University.
